Xi Van Fleet grew up with China’s so-called “Cultural Revolution” exploding around her, transforming her homeland into an authoritarian state where the entire populace was indoctrinated into the belief that poverty was purity, that oppression was freedom, and that liberty was poisonous. After the death of Mao Zedong, she emigrated to the US and embraced the true freedom our country presents.
