How desperate is the left? Embarrassingly desperate. Now we’re told in one of the worst blog posts I’ve ever seen here, that Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity pay callers? It’s a laugh. With a point. This story, which hit over the weekend, is an attempt to convince whoever needs to be, the FCC maybe? that talk shows are fake. As fake as “faux news.” This presumably intelligent(?) blogger contends that Premier radio hires actors to make phone calls. And here’s where it gets funny: and since Hannity and Limbaugh are affiliated with the company…well, they must pay for callers.
Here’s the quote from the story that nobody will read:
While this actor’s claim does not specifically prove hosts like Hannity used the fake caller services his parent company sells, Hannity’s record of being caught manipulating public opinion, deceptively editing video, suppressing opposing views, and lopsided call ratios through the decades speaks for itself. His show doesn’t sound like America and never has.
My, my, my we’ve certainly strayed quite a ways from accusations of paying callers to “not sounding like America,” haven’t we? That’s the main point. They’re stringing some pretty dim lights on this scarecrow of an “argument.”
As a radio talk show host the idea of paying callers is absurd. Have you ever listened to these shows? They barely take callers. Most of us talk show hosts barely take callers. The callers who make it on the air don’t get paid. Most, if not all, of the conservative talkers take the liberal callers first. It makes for more interesting radio.
I’ve heard a few paid callers, however, on FM morning shows for a bit. Back in the day. Oh, and on the Phil Hendrie Show, but then again, he’s the one doing all the fake voices. Quick, get a rope.
FTL. Fail.
